You may remember last April how excited we were to launch the StuartCo site, which is now an award winning website They had come to us with the goal of creating the best apartment search in the area. Instead of searching for available apartments on each individual property site that StuartCo manages, they wanted potential tenants to be able to search across all of their properties in one place. Checkerboard took the challenge to create a great user experience and dive into an API we hadn’t worked with before.

The development part of the site was of a higher level of complexity than what we are used to doing day in and out, but our team was excited about the challenge. We needed to take data from three different API feeds and bring them into WordPress. On top of that, we wanted to create filters that weren’t included in the feed to provide an even more interesting set of variables that a tenant could search on. These include things like; Urban Living, Pet Friendly, Near Parks, and other things that are more subjective. And to top it all off, we then connected the site to MailChimp to provide automation based on that same search functionality.

The site launched in April and has been running smoothly ever since. This fall, the website continued to turn heads when it received the Best Website award from the Minnesota Multi Housing Association award ceremony (MADACS). We are grateful to have StuartCo as a client with their award winning website because they continue to push the bar in design and technology, and keep us on our toes.
