Here’s a friendly warning: Your website may soon disappear from search results unless it was configured using the Mobile First approach. Checkerboard is cautioning everyone with a business website to make sure that site is built with a responsive or adaptive design. If it isn’t, and you don’t take swift action, you may lose sales and market share to your competition.
Here is what’s going on. Google is changing their website ranking system. Instead of pulling data from desktop sites, they will start pulling data from mobile sites. This means that if you don’t have a mobile responsive website, you may no longer be ranked. Users will no longer see your site pop up in their search engines.
This is happening because, according to Google, most people are searching the web using a mobile device. One study found that 65-70 percent of web traffic comes from a tablet or smartphone.
Mobile First is coming soon. Your website must look good on a tablet and smartphone.
I’m not saying you should panic about Mobile First, but if you’re at all uncertain you should probably call us today at 952-697-5211 or email me at kocinaj@checkerboard.com or fill out this form. Checkerboard will conduct a free site review, which will include analyzing your site and letting you know what needs to be done to make it responsive to mobile devices.
